JGS Breaks Ground For Genesis III
LONGMEADOW — Jewish Geriatric Services (JGS) has broken ground on the third phase of Genesis III, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-financed housing for elders.
The project, part of JGS’s award-winning campus of housing, will include 29 one-bedroom units, two elevators connecting to other buildings of Genesis House, a new dining/community room, and other related areas. The project will also include improvements and enhancements of older buildings on the Harold Grinspoon Campus, including painting and staining, new roofing, upgrade of fire alarm systems, and a new fire sprinkler system.
Genesis II is expected to be available for occupancy next march. Improvements to other buildings will be ongoing during the contruction period.
