JGS Lifecare to Host Certified Dementia Practitioner Training on Nov. 7

LONGMEADOW — JGS Lifecare will host a certified dementia practitioner (CDP) training in partnership with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the JGS Lifecare campus in Longmeadow. The CDP fee is $195, which includes a continental breakfast, boxed lunch, and afternoon snack provided by Louis & Clark Pharmacy. Click here to register.

Why become a certified dementia practitioner? Whether in healthcare or other fields, many people encounter individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia in everyday settings like grocery stores, banks, or restaurants. Employees in all industries could benefit from proper training to better understand and support these individuals.

This certification is not just for eldercare workers — it’s a valuable asset for the entire community. Dementia-friendly towns are better equipped to welcome and serve residents. The more certified professionals there are, the more compassionate and supportive a community becomes.

In addition, attendees who are interested in becoming a certified NCCDP trainer can sign up for a 12-hour training for a discounted rate of $2,500. Contact Becky Barker at rebecca@nccdp.org or (862) 391-8191 to learn more.
