Kimball Farms Awarded Prestigious Accreditation

LENOX — Kimball Farms recently earned the prestigious five-year CARF–CCAC accreditation, an unusual accomplishment for a first-time applicant. The accreditation is for the entire Kimball Farms Life Care Community, including independent living, PineHill Assisted Living, and the Nursing Care Center.

Kimball Farms is one of only eight continuing-care retirement communities in Massachusetts to earn the exclusive recognition.

Accreditation by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) indicates achievement of the highest levels of performance, along with a commitment to continued improvements in quality.

To receive the five-year term of accreditation, Kimball Farms volunteered for a rigorous peer-review process and demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site survey that it is committed to conforming to CARF-CCAC’s accreditation conditions and standards.

“This accreditation demonstrates that Kimball Farms has made a specific commitment to put the needs of our residents at the center of everything we do,” said Albert Ingegni III, executive director. “We’re especially proud that resident interviews contributed to the accreditation.”

The CCAC was founded in 1985 as the nation’s only accrediting body for continuing-care retirement communities and similar organizations. In 2003, CCAC merged with CARF, a nonprofit accreditor that serves a wide range of human-service organizations.

This honor is the most recent in a series of accomplishments by Kimball Farms that include three deficiency-free state surveys in the past five years, designation as a five-star organization by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Silver Quality Award from the American Health Care Assoc., and top-quartile results in both resident and staff satisfaction for 2011. In fact, the 2011 customer satisfaction rating at the 100th-percentile rank is in the top 1{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} in the nation, as is the100th-percentile rank in staff satisfaction.
