Lecture to Highlight ‘Timelines and Tests for Women’
WARE — Certain tests are especially important for women, but many still don’t know when they’re supposed to start getting them or how often the tests are really needed.
Area women are invited to join Baystate Health’s Spirit of Women program for a lecture titled “Timelines and Tests for Women.” The program, offered by Dr. Oscar Martinez, medical director of Baystate Mary Lane Obstetrics & Gynecology, will be held on Monday, Feb. 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital in the Main Conference Room located on the second floor. To register, call Baystate Health Link at (413) 967-2488 or (800) 377-4325.
“Even if you feel fine, it is still important to see your healthcare provider regularly,” Martinez said. “Getting the right health services, screenings, and treatments are important to good health. Which screening tests you need depend on your age, family history, your own health history, and other risk factors like what you eat, how active you are, and whether you smoke.”
Regular health exams and tests can help find problems before they start, he added. “They also can help find problems early, when your chances for treatment and cure are better.”
