Lynn Proulx to Lead Joint-replacement Seminar at Summit for Seniors
LEE — Porchlight VNA/Home Care Rehabilitation Director Lynn Proulx will present on “Secrets to Successful Joint Replacements” at the Successful Aging Summit on Tuesday, June 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Linda Manor Care Campus, 345 Haydenville Road, Leeds. She joins other local experts in their fields to discuss ways seniors can stay active and healthy as they age.
As a licensed occupational therapist, Proulx has worked for Porchlight in the home-care industry for more than 15 years, leading her Rehabilitation Department to a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Along with an interdisciplinary team of Visiting Nurse Assoc. of New England members, she developed and utilizes a strict pathway for treating joint replacements and other disease processes to reduce rehospitalizations in home-care patients. The pathway will be the framework for her seminar presentation to seniors, which focuses on reducing fall risks and other strategies for staying independent at home after a joint replacement.
The summit is free for the community and features presentations on topics including senior sexuality and estate planning. Continental breakfast and lunch are included in the summit. To register, call (800) 596-8183.
