Mercy Medical Center Recognized for Colon Cancer, Lung Cancer Surgery

SPRINGFIELD — Mercy Medical Center has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a High Performing hospital for colon cancer surgery and lung cancer surgery. Receiving a High Performing rating indicates Mercy was significantly better than the national average in these procedures.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals’ performance on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Procedures and Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from more than 800 million records of patient care.
