MHA Employees Enjoy Take Your Dog to Work Days

SPRINGFIELD — MHA values what its employees have to say, and when it comes to new ways to enrich the working environment, the company’s leadership is receptive to new ideas. One result is Take Your Dog to Work Days.

“The idea was raised in a staff meeting when someone suggested we schedule days where a dog parent could bring their pooch to work,” said Kimberley Lee, vice president, Resource Development & Branding for MHA. “Each dog parent working at our main office has the opportunity to schedule their day, a full work day, when their dog gets to be MHA’s pooch in residence.”

MHA President and CEO, Cheryl Fasano liked the idea so much, she signed up Carly, her 13-year-old shih tzu, to join her at the office. “If you have a dog, you understand the benefits that having a relationship with a pet can have,” Fasano said. “Besides companionship, there’s stress relief, exercise, social connection, and just fun. Sharing those benefits with co-workers can be a great way to brighten everyone’s day, dog included.”
