HOLYOKE — Family members of residents at the Mont Marie Health Care Center are very satisfied with the care their loved ones are receiving, according to a survey just released by the State Department of Public Health.
The Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke, a not-for-profit skilled nursing facility owned and operated by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, scored 4.64 in overall satisfaction, well above the statewide average of 4.25. Commenting on the high score, center Director Sr. Elizabeth Sullivan, said “We at Mont Marie Health Care Center are very pleased with the results of this survey and will continue to work toward the delivery of excellent care to our residents on an on-going basis.”
The survey is the first of its kind for the state. The survey collected detailed information about nursing home staff, physical environment, activities, personal care services, food and meals and resident’s personal rights. It also asked respondents to rate overall satisfaction and ability to meet residents’ needs. More than 16,000 family members of nursing home residents across the state completed the survey.
