NAMI Western Massachusetts Slates Virtual Walkathon for Aug. 23

AGAWAM — The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Western Massachusetts will hold its 20th annual walkathon and virtual celebration, “A Journey of Hope and Recovery,” on Sunday, Aug. 23 starting at 11 a.m.

The event is suitable for all ages and abilities and will directly benefit NAMI Western Massachusetts’ continuing efforts to help improve the lives of those individuals living with mental-health conditions and their families. NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental-health organization, providing advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

Among the festivities will be guest speakers, arts, activities, peer videos, and raffles. Individuals are invited to submit a brief video (two minutes or less) saying how NAMI Western Massachusetts has helped them or a loved one, or how they maintain good mental health during these difficult times. E-mail videos by Friday, Aug. 7 to information@namiwm.org.
