National Student Speech Language Hearing Assoc. Honors Springfield College Chapter
SPRINGFIELD — The National Student Speech Language Hearing Assoc. (NSSLHA) awarded the NSSLHA chapter at Springfield College with 2020 Bronze Chapter Honors.
Efforts made by the NSSLHA chapter at Springfield College helped the NSSLHA increase awareness of communication sciences and disorders (CSD) on more than 110 local college campuses and communities across the country, increase advocacy efforts by sending more than 15,500 letters to state and federal legislators, provide scholarships to students in CSD programs by contributing more than $15,000 to the ASHFoundation’s NSSLHA Scholarship, and support CSD-related organizations with more than $162,000 in donations.
“Our club has worked hard since September to have more of an influence on campus and in the greater community,” said Sofia Cadden, president of NSSLHA’s Springfield College chapter. “Despite this year’s uncertainty, our NSSLHA club has come together to combine efforts into finishing out the academic year just as strong as we began it.”
National NSSLHA Chapter Honors are awarded to affiliated NSSLHA chapters that demonstrate an outstanding effort to support the NSSLHA’s mission to inspire, empower, and support students in communication sciences and disorders programs.
