Noble Hospital Continues to Rank First in ‘Hospital Compare’ Survey

WESTFIELD — With the fifth release of patient survey data on the publicly accessible Hospital Compare Web site (www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov), Noble Hospital continued to demonstrate leading patient-satisfaction ratings.

In the “Survey of Patients’ Hospital Experiences” section, Noble Hospital’s overall approval percentages once again rank higher than any other hospital in Hampden County in 7 out of 10 patient survey categories. Other significant results from this round of data include:

• Noble scored 15 or more percentage points better than all Hampden county hospitals in the survey category “Responsiveness of Hospital Staff — Always”;

• Noble scored 5 percentage points or better than other Hampden County hospitals in two other survey categories — “Patient Communications with Their Doctors” and “Management of Patient’s Pain”;

• Noble met or exceeded the average of all Massachusetts hospitals in 8 out of the 10 survey categories (and equaled the percentage in one); and

• Noble Hospital met or exceeded the survey averages for all U.S. hospitals in 9 out of 10 categories.

“Noble Hospital’s consistently high patient-satisfaction scores point to one fact — the dedication and commitment that are brought to work each day by the entire staff at Noble,” said George Koller, president and CEO of Noble Hospital and Health Systems. “I think it also shows that our CARES mission (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Satisfaction) isn’t just a good acronym — our staff really take their service to the community to heart.”

The data was collected as a part of the HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey — a national, standardized survey of hospital patients about their experiences during a recent inpatient hospital stay. The Web site is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
