North Adams Commons to Host Workshop and Lunch on the ‘Five Wishes’
NORTH ADAMS — North Adams Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center invites the public to a “Five Wishes” workshop and lunch on Thursday, April 13 at 11:45 a.m. at 175 Franklin St., North Adams. Participants will enjoy a lunch of fettuccine alfredo, broccoli, focaccia bread, and tiramisu; enter a raffle; and take home their own Five Wishes booklet.
The workshop, facilitated by HospiceCare in the Berkshires, will help participants understand the Five Wishes living will and guide them through the process. The Five Wishes is a document that can help individuals express their desires for end-of-life care. The discussion will also cover healthcare proxies, do-not-resuscitate orders, and medical orders for life-sustaining treatment. The event will include discussion of considerations for end-of-life care, strategies for starting challenging conversations, and how to ensure loved ones’ preferences are met.
This event is free. RSVP by calling North Adams Commons at (413) 662-4403.
