Quonquont Farm to Host Presentation on ‘Radical Self-care’ on Oct. 9
WHATELY — The term ‘self-care’ is everywhere these days. Equally as prevalent are statistics about the risks of too much stress and anxiety. Every Woman, a Baystate Health Loyalty program, is inviting the community to learn how to create the space in these challenging times to de-stress and practice self-care.
Join Nathalie Fischer-Rodríguez, Oncology social worker at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, for a discussion about the meaning and importance of ‘radical self-care.’ She will provide education about the connection between self-care and women’s empowerment, and will also share insights on the power of mindfulness and guide attendees through techniques intended to soothe and nourish the body, mind, and heart.
The event, hosted by Quonquont Farm in Whately, will begin with social hour at 5 p.m., overlooking the farm fields and foliage. A buffet dinner will begin at 6 p.m., followed by presentations about 3D mammography. The keynote speaker is scheduled for 7:15 p.m., with raffle prizes to conclude the event.
Tickets cost $20 for Every Woman members and $40 for non-members. A cash bar, a gift for attendees, and the chance to win prizes will be provided. To register or receive more information, call (413) 794-5200.
