Rachel’s Table Partners with PV Financial Group in Growing Gardens Program

SPRINGFIELD — PV Financial Group joined Rachel’s Table of Western Massachusetts’ Growing Gardens sponsorship program as a Seed Sustainer, offering a commitment of $10,000 per year for three years. This sponsorship supports mutual benefits — the garden program continues to serve local food access and food security, while PV Financial can teach classes in financial literacy and balancing budgets to local individuals and families.

The Growing Gardens program is a multi-year initiative to support self-sustaining access to healthy food for those who are food insecure. Growing Gardens supports partner agencies in building and maintaining on-site gardens in which they grow culturally appropriate food that reflects the needs and visions of the communities the agencies serve. Clients of partner agencies are involved in planning, planting, and harvesting food. The Growing Gardens program provides financial support, community-led training and skills development for agency staff and constituents, employment opportunities for youth and adults, dedicated volunteer support, and a network of agency gardeners with whom to share resources and information.
