Red Cross Golf Tournament Nets $30,000
SOUTHWICK — The 17th Annual Red Cross Golf Tournament, sponsored by Pellegrini, Seeley, Ryan and Blakesley, P.C., was held June 24 at the Ranch golf club in Southwick, raising $30,000 for Red Cross work in area communities. Other sponsors included Bay State Gas and AXiA Insurance Group.
Nearly 170 golfers spent the day at the Ranch, enjoying lunch, 18 holes of golf, a putting contest, raffles, an auction, door prizes for all golfers, and an awards dinner. Committee Chair Gerald FitzGerald of FitzGerald & Mastroianni Advertising was master of ceremonies for the evening’s events.
The winning team, from AXiA Insurance Group, included Bill Dimmitt, Michael Kagan, Gary Burt, and Pete Whelen. The event was split into two times to play — a morning session and an afternoon session, with all scores competing. Prizes were awarded for top three teams, closest to the pin, and longest drive.
The golf tournament is one of the Pioneer Valley Chapter’s primary fund-raising events. The American Red Cross, Pioneer Valley relies upon voluntary community support for its services and programs.
