Wing Raffles Basketball Signed by 1992 Dream Team

PALMER — In the 1992 Summer Olympic Games, the U.S. fielded a basketball team that was arguably the greatest squad ever — the Dream Team. They won the Olympic gold medal, finishing undefeated.

This past summer, the Dream Team was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. That day, hall President John Doleva and his staff gathered the autographs of many of the Dream Team players on a basketball, which he has donated to Wing Memorial Hospital.

The ball is signed by Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Chris Mullin, David Robinson, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, Clyde Drexler, Scottie Pippen, and assistant Coaches P.J. Carlesimo and Lenny Wilkins. This piece of NBA history comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Doleva and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Raffle tickets cost $5 each. Visit dreamteamball.com for instructions on how to buy tickets.

The drawing will be held on Dec. 22, and entrants must be Massachusetts residents age 18 or older. All proceeds will benefit Wing Memorial Hospital. For more information, call Wing’s Development office at (413) 284-5798.
