ServiceNet to Host Grand Opening of SkillBuilders Makerspace+ Today
CHICOPEE — Today, Dec. 1, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., ServiceNet will celebrate the grand opening of SkillBuilders Makerspace+, the human-service agency’s newest innovative day program for individuals with developmental disability, located at 355 Front St., Chicopee.
SkillBuilders Makerspace+ offers a diverse range of creative activities for participants to enrich their lives and explore their passions while learning new vocational and social skills. Lab spaces include ceramics, jewelry making, painting, robotics, gaming, Lego engineering, virtual reality, and more.
The grand opening will include a hands-on tour of the facility’s learning stations and remarks by program leaders and participants.
Area elected officials attending the event will include state Sen. Jake Oliveira, state Reps. Shirley Arriaga and Pat Duffy, and Chicopee Mayor John Vieau.
