MiraVista Expands Intensive Outpatient Programming

HOLYOKE — MiraVista Behavioral Health Center is expanding its Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), adding evening hours in both Spanish and English for individuals who want more therapeutic services for recovery.

Studies have shown IOP group sessions to be effective in supporting abstinence through the education provided on different recovery topics and the opportunity to share experiences with other clients.

“MiraVista’s IOP provides support for adults in recovery,” director of Outpatient Services Cristina Rivera said. “It is designed to broaden an understanding of addiction, develop skills to manage substance misuse, and provide a place to ask questions and share personal experiences. Our hope is that, within this environment, individuals will find the tools they need to sustain their recovery.”

Rivera added that the announcement of the program’s expanded access coincides with National Recovery Month. “At MiraVista, we are very committed to making substance use treatment more accessible and convenient for everyone. We understand the challenges of balancing work and recovery, which is why we’re excited to announce our new evening hours in both Spanish and English. With our evening hours, individuals can now access the help they may need during a time that’s more aligned with their schedule.”

The new evening hours are in addition to the IOP at MiraVista, which is currently offered Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with transportation provided at no cost. The recently added evening hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 5 to 8:30 p.m.
