Springfield to End Mask Mandate on Monday
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield’s city-wide mask mandate will end Monday (Feb. 28), although masks will still be required in the city’s public schools until the end of March.
The ending of the mandate comes amid a significant decrease in new cases of COVID -19, noted both Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno and Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris.
Springfield implemented the mask mandate om Jan. 3 due to a significant increase in COVID cases and low vaccination numbers.
