State Rep. Keenan Joins SPHS As VP Of Government Relations
SPRINGFIELD—The Sisters of Providence Health System (SPHS) recently announced that State Rep. Daniel F. Keenan will be joining the system in the position of vice president of Government Relations, effective Feb. 1.
“We are pleased that Dan Keenan will be joining the Sisters of Providence Health System,” said Vincent McCorkle, President and CEO of SPHS. “He has been a trusted and respected public servant for many years in Western Mass. and will be a welcome addition to the senior leadership team. He is a talented attorney with an extensive background in health care finance and a strong working knowledge of issues related to hospital and health system operations.”
Keenan currently represents residents of the Third Hampden District. During his tenure in the Legislature, he has had several committee assignments including Health Care Finance, chair of Medicaid, vice chair of Insurance, Ways and Means, and Taxation. In 2004, Keenan was chair of the Budget Task Force on Medicaid and in 2005 he co-chaired the State Budget Task Force on Hospitals. In 1999, he was recognized as Legislator of the Year by the Mass. Municipal Assoc., in 2000 as Legislator of the Year by the Hampden Bar Assoc. and in 2004 as Legislator of the Year by the Home and Health Care Association of Massachusetts.
