Stavros to Host Job Fair for Personal Care Attendants and PCA Employers
SPRINGFIELD — Stavros will host a personal care attendant (PCA) and PCA employer job fair on Tuesday, July 17 at 5 p.m. at 227 Berkshire Avenue, Springfield.
PCAs enable people with disabilities to achieve the independence they need, so the stakes are high, and finding the right people can be daunting. This event, which Stavros advocate Jennifer Lee has designed along the lines of a speed-dating night, strives to provide PCA employers with a fun and low-pressure opportunity to meet potential PCAs — without having to disclose personal and medical information to a lot of strangers.
“We want to ease the anxiety of finding a PCA by creating an opportunity where individuals can network with potential hires and express their needs as an employer within a safe and supportive environment,” Lee said. “Stavros fully recognizes that access to dependable, skilled PCAs is imperative to independent living and the overall health of persons with disabilities. We hope to bridge the gap for those in need of a PCA.”
PCAs looking for work and all people who use PCAs are welcome. The event requires registration; RSVP or send questions to Jennifer Lee at (413) 256-0473, ext. 213 or jlee@stavros.org.
