WestMass ElderCare Promotes Kat Mangiafico to Home Care Program Manager
HOLYOKE — WestMass ElderCare announced the promotion of Kat Mangiafico to the newly created position of home care program manager. With almost six years of service to the organization, her journey exemplifies resilience, commitment, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
Mangiafico’s career at WestMass ElderCare began in the role of nutrition supervisor, where she navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. She and the entire nutrition program team ensured the uninterrupted delivery of essential services.
Transitioning from one role to another, her dedication to WestMass ElderCare’s vision of continuous improvement has been unwavering. Her promotion to home care program manager is a testament to her exemplary performance and ability to thrive in dynamic environments.
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “it’s what I was looking for. With COVID, every day you didn’t know who would show up or what you would be dealing with. It was a lot of pivoting on the fly, a lot of relationship building.” Her resilience and commitment to teamwork have been instrumental in overcoming challenges and driving positive change within the organization.
Mangiafico’s promotion underscores the value of fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. Her philosophy, grounded in the belief that titles are secondary to the sense of community and purpose, resonates deeply with the organization’s core values.
“We’re all just people at the end of the day,” she said, highlighting the importance of collaboration and mutual respect, and she looks forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in her new role. “It’s a lot of learning. Between here and there, it’s going to be messy and hard, but we’ll all join hands and get through it.”
