Willimansett Center East Achieves Five Star Rating from CMS
CHICOPEE — Willimansett Center East was recently awarded a five-star rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The Five-Star Quality Rating System is based on continued efforts as a result of the Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1987, a nursing-home reform law, and more recent quality-improvement campaigns such as the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes, a coalition of consumers, healthcare providers, and nursing-home professionals. The rating system was created to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily.
Nursing home ratings are taken from the following three sources of data: health inspections, staffing, and quality measures. The CMS provides a star rating for each of these three sources, and the three ratings are combined to calculate an overall rating.
“Our residents and staff are extremely proud of our CMS five-star rating,” said Mary Uschmann, administrator of Willimansett Center East. “The recognition reflects our team’s commitment to providing quality services. We are thankful for our opportunity to serve and look forward to providing for the future healthcare needs in our community.”
