CHD Cancer House of Hope to Host Lecture on Cancer Genetics

WEST SPRINGFIELD — The CHD Cancer House of Hope will host the latest installment of an educational lecture series in partnership with the Sister Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center. Join Dr. Michael Rosen for a discussion about “Cancer Genetics: You Can’t Choose Your Parents, but You Can Improve the Odds” on Wednesday, May 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the Healing Arts Yoga Studio at the CHD Cancer House of Hope. Light refreshments will be served.

“If you have a family history of cancer, or you’re just not sure about your genetic risk factors, this will be a very helpful talk for you,” said Joe Kane, program director for the CHD Cancer House of Hope. “It’s really a great experience to be able to host oncologists like Dr. Rosen who are knowledgeable and passionate about the work they do.”

This will be the fourth in an ongoing series of lectures presented by the Sister Caritas Cancer Center and hosted by the CHD Cancer House of Hope. In March, Dr. Philip Glynn talked about “Causes of Cancer and Tools for Prevention.”

Advance registration for the May 3 lecture is requested. To sign up, call the CHD Cancer House of Hope at (413) 733-1858.
