Annual Wicked in Pink Motorcycle Run Set for Oct. 10

SPRINGFIELD — The annual Wicked in Pink Motorcycle Run to benefit Mercy Medical Center’s Sister Caritas Cancer Center is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 10. The day will begin with registration at 10 a.m. and kickstands up at noon. The ride will begin and end at the Agawam Polish American Club at 139 Southwick St. in Feeding Hills.

The entry fee for the Wicked in Pink Motorcycle Run is $20 per person in advance and $25 the day of the ride; food is included with the entry fee. All proceeds will be donated to the Patient Services Fund at the Sister Caritas Cancer Center. Riders are encouraged to wear their best pink outfits.

Event organizer and founder Bob Kaine Alves is a cancer survivor who was treated at the Sister Caritas Cancer Center, and he began the Wicked in Pink Motorcycle Run to show his thanks for the care he received. Alves’ motto is “ride for the ones you love. Ride for the ones you lost.” He wants to show support to all those battling cancer and cancer survivors, as well as their families, friends, and caregivers.

Sponsors of the event are Haymond Law, His and Hers Towing, Roland’s Motor Works, GGInks, Westover Building Supply, and Throttle Rocker Nation.
