NORTHAMPTON — Beacon Hospice will present a program on having conversations about terminal illness at Christopher Heights of Northampton on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The program will be centered on the Being Mortal learning module.
In the best-selling book, Being Mortal, Dr. Atul Gawande writes, “I learned how to fix things. But not how to manage the problems I could not fix.” These challenges face every healthcare professional daily. The program will give practical guidance on having more successful and effective conversations about serious and terminal illnesses.
Social workers, nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants can earn CEU/CME credits for attending this program. Breakfast and registration run from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m., and the program will take place from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Tours of the assisted-living community will be available after the program. Christopher Heights of Northampton is located at 50 Village Hill Road.
Seating is limited, and reservations are requested by Monday, Oct. 22 by calling Geralyn Rodgers at (413) 584-0701 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
