Berkshire Health Systems Expands Orthopedic Care in Region

NORTH ADAMS — Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates, an affiliate of Berkshire Health Systems and a leading provider of orthopedic services in the Berkshires, has expanded its services to Northern Berkshire County with a new office at the North Adams Campus of Berkshire Medical Center (BMC). The state-of-the-art space, which includes in-office X-ray and rehabilitation, is located on the first floor of the North Adams campus, just off the main lobby.

“Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates is committed to providing the most advanced care for North Berkshire patients in need of orthopaedic services,” said Dr. Kevin Mitts, a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who, along with his partners, has pioneered the latest joint replacement procedures in the region. “In addition to the opening of this new office to serve our Northern Berkshire and Southern Vermont patients, we will be welcoming a new surgeon to Berkshire Orthopaedics in the very near future and practicing out of the North Adams location.”

Along with Mitts, Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates features Drs. Jeffrey Cella, Anthony DeFelice, Michael Nancollas, Mark Sprague, and David Grygier. They have offices in Pittsfield and Great Barrington, in addition to the new North Adams location.

Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates provides comprehensive care, including non-invasive treatments, minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery, and full joint-replacement surgery for knees, hips and shoulders, along with hand surgery and rehabilitation services. The surgeons at Berkshire Orthopaedics provide anterior hip-replacement surgery, the most advanced procedure for hip replacement, and use the Mako-assisted arthroplasty technology for hip and knee surgery.
