Berkshire VNA Nurse Achieves Case-management Expertise

PITTSFIELD — The Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association announced that Deborah A. Renzi, RN has achieved her certification in case management from the Commission for Case Manager Certification. Case management is a collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates options and services required to meet an individual’s health needs, using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective outcomes for patients. 

A registered nurse since 1993, Renzi is the Clinical Manager for the Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association, providing daily supervision and educational support for clinical nursing teams and consultation for clinical staff for the management of diabetic clients. She has served with the Berkshire VNA since 1994.

At the Berkshire VNA, Renzi has served as a quality improvement specialist, maintaining and coordinating infection control standards, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization standards, and staff education requirements for the agency, and as a community health nurse.

Renzi previously worked as supervisor of Nursing for the Berkshire Nursing Home in Pittsfield and was a charge nurse at Berkshire Medical Center.
Renzi has a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts and an associate’s degree in Nursing from Berkshire Community College. She was honored in 1993 with the Berkshire Medical Center Physicians Award for her proficiency in nursing skills.
