City Tire Launches August, September Fundraiser for America’s VetDogs

SPRINGFIELD — City Tire is making it easier for drivers to maintain their vehicles while supporting a cause that is personally meaningful to the company’s leadership.

During August and September, $5 from every oil change at all City Tire locations will be donated to America’s VetDogs. The promotion includes City Tire, Amherst Tire Center, Lodge Tire, and Seward’s Tires, all owned and operated by City Tire.

The fundraiser is part of City Tire’s ongoing partnership with America’s VetDogs. Through its direct support and its role as a presenting sponsor and major community partner of the annual Salute to Soldiers golf tournament and fundraiser, which benefits America’s VetDogs, City Tire has helped raise more than $100,000 to provide specially trained service dogs to veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities.

“An oil change is something every vehicle owner needs, so this is an easy way to take care of your vehicle while helping provide a service dog that can change someone’s life,” said Jeff Martin, executive vice president of City Tire, who volunteers as a weekend puppy raiser for America’s VetDogs. “This cause is especially meaningful to our leadership and our entire City Tire family. In this 250th anniversary year of our country, we hope to raise more than ever to support the heroes who have served our nation and communities.”

America’s VetDogs trains and places service dogs for people with physical disabilities, guide dogs for people who are blind or have low vision, service dogs that help mitigate the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder, and facility dogs that support rehabilitation in military and VA hospitals. Its services are provided at no charge to recipients.
