Countdown Begins for Jacob’s Journey Pageant Supporting Families Affected by SUDC
WESTFIELD — With the event just days away, the community is invited to look ahead to the 2026 Jacob’s Journey Pageant, taking place on Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at Westfield Technical Academy.
Registration has officially closed, and 27 contestants are now preparing to take part in the event, which benefits families affected by sudden unexplained death in childhood (SUDC). But local businesses, organizations, and community members are encouraged to show their support by attending the event and helping spread awareness of the mission behind Jacob’s Journey. The event remains open to the public, and attendees are invited to come cheer on the contestants and stand with families impacted by this rare and devastating loss.
Hosted by community advocate Jenniffer Fanska, the Jacob’s Journey Pageant brings together participants of all ages for a meaningful day centered on remembrance, encouragement, and community support. The event is designed to honor children lost to SUDC while uplifting the families who carry their memory forward.
“This event is about love, remembrance, and showing families they are not alone,” Fanska said. “We are grateful for the support of our 27 registered contestants, and we look forward to sharing this special day with the community.”
The pageant will feature age divisions for all ages, optional themed wear, and non-competitive recognition that celebrates courage, kindness, and community spirit. Proceeds from the event will benefit the SUDC Foundation, which works to raise awareness, fund research, and support families affected by SUDC.
