Follow My Steps to Host Day of Wellness to Promote Health, Movement, Connection
SPRINGFIELD — Follow My Steps invites community members of all ages to attend its upcoming Day of Wellness, taking place on Saturday, May 16 from noon to 3 p.m. at Best Fitness Springfield. This revitalizing afternoon is dedicated to supporting mental and physical well-being through movement, connection, and access to community resources.
Open to individuals and families of all fitness levels, the Day of Wellness is designed to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where participants can recharge, build healthy habits, and engage with local wellness partners. The event will feature a guided, family-friendly workout session suitable for all experience levels, as well as an interactive Step Up Challenge that encourages participants to stay active while working toward personal wellness goals.
Participants who complete the Step Up Challenge will be eligible to receive a free pair of running sneakers, with additional opportunities available for youth ages 13-18 and participating parents to receive complimentary footwear while supplies last. The event will also include a complimentary mental health group session led by a licensed facilitator, providing a supportive space for reflection and conversation focused on emotional well-being.
Attendees will have the opportunity to receive a free trial gym membership courtesy of Best Fitness, enter raffles for wellness-focused prizes, and connect with local vendors and community partners offering valuable resources and services that support healthier lifestyles.
“The Day of Wellness is an opportunity to bring our community together in a positive and empowering way,” Jayne Astacio Melendez, director of Programming for Follow My Steps. “We want participants to leave feeling energized, supported, and inspired to take meaningful steps toward healthier lives.”
Participants are encouraged to register in advance to ensure access to select offerings. Registration must be completed by May 14, and the Step Up Challenge must be finished in order to qualify for sneakers. Quantities are limited.
