Get Your Pink On Raises More Than $12,000 for Cancer Care Patient Fund

NORTHAMPTON — The 13th annual Get Your Pink On fundraiser at Ludlow Country Club raised more than $12,000 for the Cancer Care Patient Fund at Cooley Dickinson Hospital’s Mass General Cancer Center.

In 2009, Denise and Art Flanagan formed Patty’s Bosom Buddies after a family member was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, along with many community members and businesses, they have raised well over $100,000 to support local patients with cancer. The event is now put on by a local committee and chaired by the team at Legacy Counsellors.

The Cancer Care Patient Fund is a safety net that helps people experiencing personal financial hardships due to their cancer diagnosis, including help with household bills, gas and grocery cards, transportation, special equipment, and dental work.

“A cancer diagnosis has an enormous impact on patients and their families, and this fund helps to alleviate some of that stress,” patient and survivor Nikki Stoia said. “Sadly, we all know someone who has been touched by cancer.”

Cooley Dickinson Hospital expressed appreciation to lead sponsors Legacy Counsellors, LUSO Federal Credit Union, and Country Bank, and event partners Rock 102 and Sam Smalley Photography.
