HospiceCare in the Berkshires Earns Hospice Honors Elite Recognition

PITTSFIELD — HospiceCare in the Berkshires has been recognized as a Hospice Honors Elite recipient based on survey results from October 2013 through September 2014.

The Deyta Family Evaluation of Hospice Care (FEHC) survey evaluates a hospice’s performance on 18 satisfaction-indicator measures. To earn the Elite honor, HospiceCare in the Berkshires had to be above the national average in all 18 evaluated questions.

“I want to congratulate all of the dedicated caregivers at HospiceCare in the Berkshires for this great achievement,” said Denise Granger, executive director. “We know that they provide excellent, compassionate care on a daily basis, but it is gratifying to receive recognition from an independent organization.”

Deyta surveys patients and families of approximately 1,700 hospice services and this year recognized only 39 with the Hospice Honors Elite designation, putting HospiceCare in the Berkshires in the top 2{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} of agencies surveyed. Survey results are obtained from family members of patients who received hospice services, and reflect opinions about overall quality of care, patient experience, family experience, and the medical, spiritual, and emotional aspects of care.
