Mass. Medical Society Wins National Award
WALTHAM — The Mass. Medical Society (MMS), a statewide professional organization of physicians, has been honored with an Award of Excellence in the 2007 Associations Advance America Awards program, a national competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center for Association Leadership in Washington, D.C.
The MMS received the award for Your Health First, a multimedia educational effort focusing on the public health priorities of flu, obesity, and youth violence. First launched in the fall of 2005, Your Health First was designed to deliver the message that preventing illness and injury is the best strategy for a healthy life. The messages were targeted to “at-risk” populations across the Commonwealth, using the mediums of television, radio, and transit advertising. While targeted to a broad cross-section of the public, a primary audience of the campaign was women 25-54 years of age who care for children or older relatives.
