Ruth’s House Family Council Honored

LONGMEADOW — Susan Kline, Carol Hirshberg and Theo Glickman, representing the Family Council of Ruth’s House Assisted Living Residence, were recently honored with a Volunteer of the Year Award at the 10th Annual Community Stars Award presentation of the Mass. Assisted Living Facilities Assoc. (MASS ALFA) at the Sheraton Tara in Framingham.

The Family Council was nominated for the honor by Deanna Lawrence, executive vice president for Ruth’s House, in recognition of their active participation in helping to enhance services and quality of life for residents of the assisted living residence. In her nomination, Ms. Lawrence noted: “What is most amazing about these folks is their incredible love for our community, their genuine appreciation for our staff, and the unbelievable amount of their personal time that they devote consistently to improving life for residents.”

The Mass. Assisted Living Facilities Assoc. represents the interests of assisted living residences throughout the state. The Community Star Awards are held annually to recognize program innovation, employee and volunteer leadership and resident spirit.
Ruth’s House opened its doors in 1998, as one of the first assisted living residences in the Greater Springfield and Pioneer Valley region.
