Wing Memorial Hospital & Medical Centers Announce New Physicians

PALMER – Charles E. Cavagnaro III, MD, President & CEO of Wing Memorial Hospital & Medical Centers is pleased to announce that four physicians have joined the medical staff and will be providing services at Wing Medical Centers in Palmer and Monson.

Andrew B. Chertoff, MD, a board certified orthopedic surgeon, has joined the orthopedic practice at Wing Medical Center in Palmer. Dr. Chertoff received his medical degree from Rutgers University Medical School in New Jersey. He completed his surgical residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City and his orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital of Joint Diseases-Orthopedic Institute also in New York City. Douglas J. Colson, MD is an otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose & Throat) physician and has joined the ENT practice at Wing Medical Center in Palmer. Dr. Colson received his medical degree from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY and completed both his surgical internship and his otolaryngology residency at the State University of New York’s Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. John R. Diggs, Jr., MD, a board certified internal medicine physician, joins the internal medicine practice at Wing Medical Center in Monson. Dr. Diggs received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his residency at Baystate Medical Center. During his residency, he was the first resident to ever present at Grand Rounds and the topic was “Retinopathy in Primary Care.” Dr. Diggs has daily office hours and to schedule an appointment with him, please call 413-267-9101.

Robert J. Kaplan, MD, is a pain management physician and has joined the pain management practice at Wing Medical Center in Palmer. Dr. Kaplan earned his medical degree from the State University of New York’s Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and has extensive teaching experience at both Harvard Medical School and Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
