Yoga Classes for Breast-cancer Patients Slated for September

WARE — An eight-week restorative yoga class designed for breast cancer patients will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning Sept. 19 and continue through Nov. 14. Classes will be held at the Centered Place Yoga Studio, located at 286 Bridge St. in Warren, and will be taught by co-owner Nancy Nowak, a certified and registered yoga teacher and yoga therapist.

According to Nowak, “this eight-week yoga series will offer participants gentle stretching and deep relaxation in a nurturing environment where tensions can melt, stress can be released, and cares and concerns drop away. Participants will leave each class with a greater sense of peace, well-being, rest, and renewal.”

The program is grant-funded by Rays of Hope and is free to breast-cancer patients and survivors. Each participant is welcome to bring a caretaker, family member, or ’buddy’ for additional support. For more information or to register, call St. Onge at (413) 967-2241.
