Baystate Health to End COVID-19 Vaccines at Whitney Avenue Site in Holyoke

HOLYOKE — As more large-scale vaccination sites are beginning to close around the country and in Massachusetts, Baystate Health will be ending COVID-19 vaccinations at its Whitney Avenue site in Holyoke.

Friday, June 11 is the last day the public can schedule or walk in for a first shot of the Pfizer vaccine. Also, Friday, July 2 is the last day for second shots. Those choosing the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, however, can continue through July 2 to schedule or walk in for the shot.

The change comes as Baystate and many other hospitals have met their mission serving as primary vaccination sites to meet the needs of patients and the community. In the long term, similar to flu shots, people will be able to get vaccinated at places such as their primary-care provider’s office, retail pharmacy chains, and other locations.
