Baystate Wing Hospital Gift Shop Supports Local Healthcare

PALMER — Whether you’re looking for something special for a patient, a gift for a special occasion, or a unique item for the home, the Baystate Wing Hospital Gift Shop offers many unique, hand-selected items.

“Through their fund-raising efforts in the gift shop and special event sales, the hospital’s auxiliary members and volunteers have actively supported local healthcare in the region by offering scholarships to local graduating high-school seniors who are pursuing their education in the field of healthcare,” said Teresa Grove, president of the auxiliary and Philanthropy officer for the Baystate Health Eastern Region, which includes Baystate Wing and Baystate Mary Lane Outpatient Center. “In 2017, they will award scholarships to students from Pathfinder, Monson, Palmer, Ludlow, Belchertown, Wilbraham, and Ware high schools.”

According to Jacqueline Mitchell, auxiliary treasurer, “many special-event vendor sales are planned through 2017. We invite the public to come in and find that special gift at one of these vendor sales held in the lobby located on the ground floor of the hospital from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.”

The 2017 vendor sale dates are: Wicked Good Treats by Elaine, Feb. 13; Jewelry from Diane Birchenough, March 9; Prairie Blossom Silver from Chris Bonak, March 17; Books Are Fun/Collective Goods from David Bieda, April 13-14; Jewelry from Diane Birchenough, April 28; Wire Designs by Carol June, May 5; and Fork Art by Laura, May 11-12.

“We are always interested in having new volunteers join our active group,” said Grove. “Becoming a member of the auxiliary offers you an opportunity to interact with the community, make new friends, and have fun while supporting the hospital.”

The Baystate Wing Hospital Gift Shop is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information or an application to become a member of the Baystate Wing Hospital Auxiliary, stop in the Gift Shop or call (413) 370-8169.
