BMC Names Cardiology Administrator

PITTSFIELD — Berkshire Medical Center announced the appointment of Estelle R. Mullen as director of Cardiology Services.
In her new role, Mullen is working closely with cardiologists Peter Zwerner, M.D. and David Finck, M.D., as well as physician’s assistant Rebecca Takis-Smith, providing cardiology services as part of Berkshire Faculty Services at BMC. Working collaboratively with the physician practice, Mullen is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures, establishing goals and objectives, and leading efforts to improve patient care.

Mullen most recently served as director of Cardiovascular Services for New England Medical Center in Boston. There, she directed and oversaw more than 120 staff members in the division of Cardiovascular Services. She had held previous management positions with New England Medical Center, including business operations manager for the Cardiology and Gastro-enterology divisions, and administrative manager for Gastroenterology.

Previously, Mullen served as administrative supervisor at Evans Medical Group at the Boston University Medical Center. Also, she worked at Harvard Community Health Plan as the coordinator for Somerville Center, supervisor for Medford Center, and senior clinical practice assistant for Medford Center.
