Caring Health Center Welcomes Shawn Lewinson as Chief Human Resources Officer

SPRINGFIELD — Caring Health Center announced the appointment of Shawn Lewinson as its new chief Human Resources officer, effective immediately.

Lewinson brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in human resources, organizational development, and executive management across community health centers, behavioral health organizations, nonprofits, and municipal government. He has led strategic workforce initiatives that strengthen organizational culture, improve employee engagement, enhance talent recruitment and retention, and ensure compliance with employment regulations.

“Shawn is an accomplished human resources executive whose leadership, integrity, and strategic vision make him an outstanding addition to our executive team,” said Tania Barber, president and CEO of Caring Health Center. “His extensive experience building high-performing organizations and fostering inclusive workplace cultures will help Caring Health Center continue to attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent while advancing our mission to provide equitable, high-quality healthcare to our community.”

Before joining Caring Health Center, Lewinson was senior director of Human Resources at McCall Behavioral Health Network, overseeing all aspects of human resources, including workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll, organizational development, and regulatory compliance. He also served as chief People & Culture officer at Aspire Living & Learning and chief Human Resources officer at Community Mental Health Affiliates. Earlier in his career, he held human resources leadership positions at First Choice Health Centers and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.

His expertise includes labor and employment law, performance management, succession planning, organizational culture, compensation strategy, diversity and inclusion, and change management.

Lewinson holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Hartford, and an asociate degree from Capital Community College. He also holds the senior professional in human resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute, recognizing his expertise and commitment to excellence in human resources leadership.
