Coons Named Director Of WorkWise

SPRINGFIELD — The Sisters of Providence Health System (SPHS) recently announced the appointment of Deborah A. Coons, RN, to the position of manager of the health system’s WorkWise Occupational Health Center.
Her office will be located on the first floor of the Weldon rehabilitation Hospital.

Coons comes to the SPHS having served most recently as the Occupational Health clinical manager at Berkshire Health Systems in Pittsfield, where she supervised both on-site occupational health programs and off-site occupational health services for various employers in the Pittsfield community.

She earned her bachelor of science degree in Nursing from UMass Amherst in 1998. In 1980, she graduated from the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing, after completing the institution’s three-year diploma program in Nursing.

She is a member of the American Assoc. of Occupational Health Nurses, the American Nurses Assoc., and the National Intravenous Nurses Assoc.
