Holyoke Mall to Host Free Pop-up Vaccination Clinic on May 8

HOLYOKE — In an effort to make vaccines more accessible to the community, Holyoke Mall is partnering with the Holyoke Board of Health, Holyoke Senior Center, Action Ambulance, and the Holyoke Community College Nursing Program to host a free pop-up Moderna vaccine clinic on Saturday, May 8 from noon to 3 p.m.

Anyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to utilize the clinic to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Appointments are suggested, but walk-ins are welcome. A clinic for the second dose of the vaccine will be held on Saturday, June 5.

“This clinic is open to the public and will be particularly helpful for mall staff who would like to stop by on a lunch break,” said Sean Gonsalves, director of the Holyoke Board of Health. “They can schedule an appointment and be in and out in less than 30 minutes.”

The clinic will be located on the upper level of Holyoke Mall, across from Billy Beez. To make an appointment, call the Holyoke Senior Center at (413) 322-5625. Walk-ins are also welcome.

“We are proud to partner with these organizations to make the vaccine more accessible to mall employees and to the community as a whole,” said Bill Rogalski, Holyoke Mall’s general manager. “We understand the importance and the goal to assist in moving Massachusetts forward.”

Holyoke Mall businesses will also offer discounts and special offers to individuals who have been vaccinated on location in an effort to incentivize the community to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. Upon receipt of the vaccine, individuals will receive a QR code coupon that will link them to a page on the mall’s website with a list of participating stores and special offers.
