Local Amputees Invited to Try Advanced Prosthetic Technology for Free

SPRINGFIELD — OP Labs will host its third annual Technology Day on Thursday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3500 Main St., Springfield. Hosted in partnership with international prosthetic manufacturer Proteor, this free event allows amputees to experience cutting-edge prosthetics for free.

“Proteor and I collaborated on this event to give amputees the unique chance to trial a variety of prosthetics side by side,” said Missy Beausoleil, certified prosthetist and orthotist. “With hundreds of prosthetic feet and multiple knee options available, being able to compare devices firsthand helps patients better understand the technology, how it functions, and what may work best for their lifestyle.”

This event is open to all lower-limb amputees. A range of Proteor devices will be available, including the Proteor Quattro, the Kinnex microprocessor-controlled ankle, and Plié 3 microprocessor knees. Attendees will be able to trial these devices, connect with other amputees, and gain professional guidance from specialists.
