Red Cross to Honor Local Heroes at Annual Breakfast
SPRINGFIELD — The Pioneer Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its seventh annual Hometown Heroes Breakfast on Wednesday, March 18 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
The event, which honors local individuals who have demonstrated acts of courage, bravery, and/or unselfish character within the past year, will begin at 7:30 a.m. Tickets for the event are available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis for $25 each.
Established by the American Red Cross to honor the spirit of humanitarianism, the Hometown Hero Award is closely related to the organization’s mission to help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. All award recipients have been nominated by members of the community and have been reviewed by a committee of community leaders.
The Hometown Heroes Breakfast serves as a major fundraising event for the Pioneer Valley Chapter, with proceeds supporting the promotion and teaching of critical life-saving skills provided by the Red Cross.
Potential sponsors are encouraged to submit a sponsorship form, which is available at the chapter’s Web site. For more information on how to purchase tickets or sponsor the Hometown Heroes breakfast, contact Paige Thayer, director of chapter support, at (413) 233-1003 or (413) 265-1113, or visit
