River Valley Counseling Center Offers Pharmacy Services to Patients

HOLYOKE — River Valley Counseling Center (RVCC), in partnership with Genoa, a QoL Healthcare company, announced the grand opening of its full-service, on-site pharmacy, located within RVCC’s 303 Beech St. location in Holyoke.

“We are excited to be the first outpatient behavioral-health clinic in Western Massachusetts to have a Genoa pharmacy embedded inside a clinic. This will provide our clients with easier access to their medicine and will encourage medication compliance as part of the treatment they receive at River Valley Counseling Center,” said Rosemarie Ansel, RVCC executive director. “Both the pharmacist and the pharmacy technician are bilingual in Spanish and will be able to assist all of our clients in understanding the importance of following their treatment plans. We look forward to a long and beneficial working relationship with Genoa.”

Genoa is the most experienced pharmacy provider specializing in the behavioral-health and addiction-treatment communities, she added. The RVCC pharmacy services are available to only RVCC clients, staff, and their immediate family members.

While the care team specializes in behavioral health, they have the capacity to fill all medications. They are able to bill Medicaid and Medicare, as well as private insurance. In addition, Genoa also offers several packaging options that can be tailored to fit the needs of RVCC consumers, including specially designed adherence packaging.
