Rosenfeld Honored

LONGMEADOW — Alan S. Rosenfeld, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer for Jewish Geriatric Services (JGS), has been awarded fellowship status in the Gerontological Society of America (GSA), through its Social Research, Policy and Practice Section.
The GSA, the national organization of professionals in the field of aging, is dedicated to the promotion of the scientific study of aging, to encourage exchanges among researchers and practitioners and to foster the use of gerontological research in forming public policy.

Rosenfeld has been at the helm of JGS since 1996. In a multi-faceted role, he is responsible for the management and direction of the JGS system of care, which includes the Julian J. Leavitt Family Jewish Nursing Home; Spectrum Home Health Care; Ruth’s House, an assisted living residence; Wernick Adult Day Health Care Center; JGS Family Medical Care, a physician practice; and Genesis House, a subsidized housing center for seniors.
