Tickets on Sale for Dakin Humane Society’s Paws & Pints at the Brew Barn on Aug. 24

PHILLIPSTON — The first-ever Paws & Pints at the Brew Barn fundraising event, hosted by Moon Hill Brewing Co. and Red Apple Farm, will take place Saturday, Aug. 24 in Phillipston. The event will raise funds for Dakin Humane Society, which has adoption centers in Springfield and Leverett.

The event, which runs from noon to 5 p.m., will be family-friendly, and attendees are encouraged to bring their pet dogs. Activities will include a peanut-butter-licking contest (for dogs), tie-dye a doggie bandana, pick your own fruit, hayrides, face painting, pet caricatures by artist Laurie Tisdale-Andruss, live music, lawn games (beanbag toss, cornhole, ring toss, and can jam), a raffle, and Red Apple Farm’s rescued farm animals.

Guests can enjoy cold beer from Moon Hill Brewing Co. served up in the Brew Barn at Red Apple Farm and food from the on-site barbecue pit or the Zapata Cucina food truck. Trails will be available for walking, and the Red Apple Farm Country Store will be open and offering ice cream, fudge, cider donuts, and other items.

Paws & Pints ends at 5 p.m., but the Brew Barn is open until 8 p.m., with live music from 4 to 7 p.m.

General admission for adults is $20 and includes a complimentary beer for those age 21 and up. General admission for children is $10 and includes a free hayride. Children under 10 may attend for free, and will be able to enjoy a free hayride.

Guests are invited to bring crowd-friendly dogs on a non-retractable leash (retractable leashes are not allowed), and are asked not to bring strollers.
