Totally Adaptive Receives Grant from Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism
EAST LONGMEADOW — Totally Adaptive announced it is a recipient of a $6,500 Autism Community Impact Grant from the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. The Autism Community Impact Grant is awarded through an application process and historically supports traditionally underserved, underfunded, culturally diverse communities reflected in the Flutie Foundation’s areas of impact.
The Doug Flutie Autism Community Impact Grant has empowered Totally Adaptive to further empower its clients with autism and other disabilities, by providing the best equipment to create an efficient, highly effective workout experience. Totally Adaptive said athletes are already demonstrating increased confidence and self-esteem, along with improved strength and endurance.
In addition, Totally Adaptive has created a new Totally Adaptive Scholarship Program. Thanks to the Doug Flutie Autism Community Impact Grant, it will be offering one-year scholarships to all scheduled Totally Adaptive classes, both in person and also over Zoom, and looks forward to reaching a broader community in order to get more people exercising and socializing.
“The Doug Flutie Autism Community Impact Grant has been truly transformative for Totally Adaptive,” said Kelly Phillips, founder and senior fitness director. “It has allowed us to enhance our programming with exceptional equipment and launch scholarships that will make our services accessible to even more individuals with autism and other disabilities. We are deeply grateful for this investment in our athletes, our mission, and our community.”
Nick Savarese, executive director of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, added that “the Flutie Foundation Autism Community Impact Grant helps our partner agencies address a variety of significant needs in the autism community. Programs like these help people on the autism spectrum live life to the fullest, and we are proud to support their efforts.”
