We Are Autism Launches Free Parent Education & Empowerment Program

SPRINGFIELD — We Are Autism, a nonprofit organization supporting parents and caregivers of children on the autism spectrum, is launching a free, eight-week Parent Education & Empowerment Program beginning Wednesday, June 17 at the Hispanic-American Library located at Union Station in Springfield.

The community-based educational series was created to provide families with practical strategies, emotional support, autism education, and real-life guidance for navigating everyday challenges at home, at school, and within the community.

The weekly program will feature guest speakers, autism professionals, and organizations throughout Western Mass., including representatives from UMass Amherst, MetroCare of Springfield, Respiro Azul, Abby Care, No Small Victories, and the Department of Developmental Services, among others.

“As a parent myself, I know firsthand how overwhelming and isolating this journey can feel,” said Charlene Pinnock, founder of We Are Autism and mother of a child on the autism spectrum. “This program was created to remind families that they are not alone and that support, education, and community truly matter.”

We Are Autism is grateful to the Hispanic-American Library at Union Station for partnering with the organization by providing space for the program and helping support outreach efforts for local families.

The program is free to attend, but registration is required as space is limited. Click here to register.
